2 New SideShow gadgets available on the Live Gallery

I’m pleased to announce that 2 more gadgets are available on the Live Gallery.  These were both authored by Tammy Smith.

World Daylight Map gadget – Displays the sun rise and set all over the world in real-time. Data provided by www.die.net. *note: the gadget name is incorrect and a fix has been submitted *

Moon Phase gadget – Watch the phase of the moon in real time

WoW Armory gadget now available!

The WoW Armory gadget for Windows SideShow is now available at:

Description:

• Shows your WoW character’s armory data on your Windows SideShow device

Features:

• Character information (level, guild, base stats, etc)
• Character pic
• Full inventory with item pics and stats
• Talent tree breakdown
• Support for your main character and up to 10 friends
• Updates every 6 hours or on demand
• Many more features coming soon, such as notifications of level, rep, and gear changes

Requirements:

• Windows Vista (32-bit or 64-bit)
• Windows SideShow device or simulator

Note: If you like this gadget, I suggest installing the Feed Reader gadget also and using it for your favorite WoW RSS feeds, such as WoW Insider (pictured in the last screenshot).

Windows SideShow Gadget Contest

The good folks over at the Windows SideShow Team Blog have posted all the details on a new Windows SideShow Gadget Contest.  Grand prize is a Dell XPS 420 SideShow-enabled desktop.  Check it out.

 

Windows SideShow and the Logitech G-15 keyboard

One of the more under-utilized features of the Logitech G-15 keyboard has to be its support for Windows SideShow.  If you’re running Windows Vista (32 bit), along with the latest software for the device from Logitech, you should have this feature already. 

Make sure Windows SideShow is enabled in the Logitech GamePanel software.  Then download gadgets from the Live Gallery. 

Not all gadgets work as well on this type of device, but here are some that I recommend:

• Windows Media Player (inbox with Windows Vista)
• Windows Mail (inbox with Windows Vista)
• Stocks
• Woot!
• Office Outlook Gadgets

 

 

World of Warcraft gadget for Windows SideShow – coming soon

The World of Warcraft Armory gadget for Windows SideShow has just reached version 0.90 status.  I expect to have the first version publicly available on the Live Gallery site within a week.
